Hi, I’m Ethan.
I have cared too much about food for most of my conscious life. I love how glorious it can be and how mundane it usually is. It’s the first thing I ask strangers about because I think everyone, even if they don’t realize it, has an interesting story.
I’m astounded how, despite the abundance of both food magazines and literary magazines, there are very few publications that embody both. Even fewer operate with an open approach to tone, medium, and subject matter.
Hence, Viction. And the name?

More about me: I previously served as associate food editor at 5280 Magazine, and I currently work in digital marketing at the James Beard Foundation. My freelance writing has appeared in outlets including Allrecipes, Outside, Philadelphia Magazine, and Brown Alumni Magazine. My favorite color is clearly green. My favorite food is potato chips.
